Everything you need to know about JanusMed
No! JanusMed works completely offline by default. All your data is stored locally on your device. You can use all core features without ever creating an account.
Your data stays on your device in your browser's storage. If you clear your browser data, reinstall the browser, or use a different device, you won't be able to access that data. We recommend creating a free account to enable secure cloud backup.
Creating a free account enables: secure cloud backup of all your data, access your health records from any device, full PDF and image storage (no size limits), share records with healthcare providers, and manage health records for family members.
Yes, your data is encrypted and stored locally. However, we recommend creating an account for data safety, as browser data can be accidentally deleted.
You can, but we strongly recommend creating an account first to ensure your data is securely stored in the cloud. Using offline mode on a public computer means your data could be accessed by the next user or lost when browser data is cleared.
Yes, privacy is at the core of JanusMed. By default, your data never leaves your device. If you create an account, your health data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. Only you control who can access your information — doctors can only see your data when you explicitly authorize them. We never sell your data, and you can delete it at any time.
JanusMed uses your uploaded exams and reports to extract health metrics, organize them on a timeline, and help you visualize trends. Your data is used solely to provide you with the service. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties without your explicit authorization.
No. Access to patient data is strictly controlled and logged. JanusMed employees do not have routine access to your medical records. In rare cases where technical support may be needed, access is granted only with your explicit consent, is logged for audit purposes, and is limited to the minimum necessary.
Yes. All documents you upload are encrypted during transfer (TLS 1.2+) and encrypted at rest using industry-standard cloud encryption. We use secure cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud) with robust access controls, continuous monitoring, and regular security audits. Your documents are stored securely and are only accessible to you and those you explicitly authorize.
JanusMed is not a covered entity under HIPAA regulations. However, we have implemented strong security and privacy practices that align with HIPAA principles, including data encryption, access controls, and secure data handling. JanusMed is classified as a general wellness application and operates under the FDA's guidance for low-risk health and wellness software. Yes, you can export your data at any time. JanusMed provides data portability features that allow you to download your uploaded documents and extracted health metrics. This ensures you always have access to your own health information, regardless of your subscription status.
JanusMed helps you prepare for doctor visits by giving you instant access to your complete medical history. You can share your health timeline with any doctor you authorize, so they can see your past exams, lab results, and health trends. No more carrying folders of papers or trying to remember when you had that last test.
No, JanusMed is not a medical diagnosis tool. We provide organization and awareness to help you understand and track your health data, but we do not provide medical diagnoses or replace a doctor. Always consult with a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice.
